Size & Fit guidelines
Achieving the correct fit is essential for both performance and comfort. As sizing standards can vary between brands, Athlee recommends using
garment-based measurements rather than relying solely on standard sizing or age categories.
To ensure the most accurate fit, customers should measure a garment that already fits well and compare these measurements directly with our
size charts. This method provides a more consistent and reliable reference point.
Understanding Garment Measurements
- Size variations are common across different brands and product ranges
- While chest and waist measurements provide a useful guide, overall garment length plays a critical role in achieving the correct fit
- Individual body proportions may vary, particularly for younger athletes, meaning similar waist sizes can require different garment lengths
- Sports shorts are typically designed with elasticated waistbands and adjustable drawstrings, allowing for flexibility across a range of waist measurements
Measuring Your Garment
For best results, measurements should be taken from a garment laid flat on a smooth surface:
- Tops: Measure from the highest point of the shoulder down to the hem
- Shorts/Trousers: Measure from the top of the waistband to the hem along the outside leg
- Ensure the garment is laid flat without stretching or pulling during measurement
Compare these measurements with the relevant Athlee size chart to determine the most suitable size.
Important Information
Selecting the correct size using garment measurements helps minimise uncertainty and ensures greater satisfaction with the final fit.
As all Athlee products are custom-made, returns are only accepted where a garment does not meet the specified size guidelines.
Please note that all garments are manufactured with an acceptable measurement tolerance of ±2cm.
Fabric Options
Understanding fabric selection is essential to achieving the right balance of comfort, durability, and performance.
At Athlee, we utilise two core materials across our kits—polyester pindot and polyester interlock—each engineered to meet the demands of
different playing positions and conditions.
Polyester Pindot
Polyester pindot is designed for athletes who prioritise lightweight performance and maximum breathability.
Constructed with micro “pinhole” textures to enhance airflow
Lightweight and highly breathable for improved ventilation
Efficient moisture management to help keep players cool and dry
Slightly textured surface, offering a modern and athletic feel
Best suited for:
Outfield players who require freedom of movement, ventilation, and consistent moisture control during high-intensity play.
Polyester Interlock
Polyester interlock offers a more structured and durable fabric option, ideal for players requiring additional protection and coverage.
Smooth, soft finish with a slightly thicker construction than pindot
Enhanced durability to withstand physical gameplay
Natural stretch properties for comfort and ease of movement
Excellent moisture-wicking capabilities with added coverage
Best suited for:
Goalkeepers and players who require a balance of durability, flexibility, and protection.
Choosing the Right Fabric
Selecting the appropriate fabric depends on your playing role and performance requirements:
Outfield Players: Benefit from the lightweight, breathable nature of pindot, ensuring optimal airflow and comfort
Goalkeepers: Require the durability and protection offered by interlock, particularly when combined with padding for added safety
Athlee fabrics are engineered to deliver performance where it matters most.
Whether prioritising breathability or durability, each material is carefully selected to support athletes at every level of the game.
